Direct to Film - basic information
DTF is a digital textile printing technology in which the motif is first printed on a special film and only then transferred to the final material using heat and pressure.
It allows quick and easy preparation for both single-color and full-color motifs, regardless of the number of colors. DTF works in the CMYK color system.
DTF has the ability to print full-color motifs without limiting the number of colors. It reproduces fine details and color transitions well. The advantage is high sharpness of details and faithful color rendering.
The print creates a thin layer on the fabric, which may be less breathable. If you are printing, for example, fabric bags, caps, sweatshirts, this property will not be a problem. For large print areas on T-shirts, this property may be noticeable. However, it depends on the nature of the original.
Printing on textiles is flexible, durable and resistant to washing.
Digital printing is suitable for printing light and dark textiles. It works on cotton, polyester and blended materials.
Data for transfer printing on fabric
We print vector and bitmap graphics.
- Bitmap designs should ideally have a transparent background (no textile colour)
- Size at 1:1, approx. at 300 dpi
- CMYK colour mode
If the printing data is insufficient, we will inform you and adjust the data to the best of our ability to ensure a high-quality print.
Are you looking for a reliable supplier of DTF transfer films?
- We print on transparent transfer films. We don’t use transfer paper because of issues when placing the design onto the textile and pressing.
- Print roll width: 60 cm
- Maximum shelf life of transfer films: 1 year
- Parameters for heat pressing. Temperature: 160–170 °C; pressure: 0.5–0.7 Mps (5–7 bar); time: 7 to 15 seconds
Please let us know if you wish to transfer the design to polyester, nylon or blended fabric. In that case, we will use low-melt transfer powder. It requires 100 °C application, which does not cause sublimation of textile pigments into the inks.
